Hidden in the heart of Chianti is a well kept secret, the tiny medieval hamlet of San Vincenti, little known, but still preserving its ancient appearance. Two old stone houses, shaded by mature trees, have recently been renovated to offer four exceptional guest properties, of which we have chosen two apartments. Enchantingly pretty, the original character has been enhanced by the addition of stylish rustic furnishings and decorative touches, which blend perfectly with polished, time-worn terracotta floors and wooden beams. Bedrooms have antique wooden or wrought iron beds, living rooms are comfortable, and there are excellent bathrooms. Each property has its own garden area, and there is a shared swimming pool overlooking a forested valley. The hamlet, with its Romanesque church and bell tower, is reached by an un-asphalted track. Although this is a good location to get away from it all, the 'real world' is never far away - Siena, Arezzo and Florence are all just a short drive.
