Sant' Anna is a very private, beautifully restored 16th-century mill, surrounded by wooded hills, fields and terraced land. Decorated in a very contemporary style, it still retains much of its original character. The ancient terracotta floors, heavy exposed beams and stone walls are completely traditional, but beautifully offset by the ultra modern bathrooms (one with a splendid free-standing bath) and modern furnishings. On the ground floor, there is a very pleasant, well equipped country kitchen, with an arch leading to a comfortable living room with large fireplace. The covered terrace looks down over the grounds and across to the private swimming pool. The first floor has a spacious hall/living room with open fireplace and another covered terrace. On this level there is also a spacious double bedroom with a very modern, dressing room/storage area. The en-suite bathroom has a corner hydro-massage bath. On the second floor are two further bedrooms, one of which has two extra twin beds, suitable for children. There is a small studio in the grounds which is occasionally used by the owner. The pool is decorated with Roman mosaic tiles and, with its large, open, paved sun terrace and built-in barbecue, is the perfect place to relax. Lying in its own open grounds, between the spa of Chianciano and the lovely medieval hilltop town of Montepulciano, renowned for its fine soft red wines, the house is well placed for visiting Florence, Arezzo, Siena, and plenty of other places in the area. Nearby Chianciano has a picturesque old town centre, as well as the larger, modern spa centre, and a choice of shops and restaurants. Ground floor: Living room. Dining room/kitchen.
