This large 18th-century country house was once a watchtower and features 360¦ degree views over the surrounding countryside. This charming house is full of character. A brick-vaulted dining terrace gives access to a large lounge and dining room featuring a huge copper-topped fireplace. Hand-painted Florentine furnishings, paintings, baroque objets d'art and family heirlooms fill the public spaces and bedrooms. There is even a bar area! A second lounge upstairs leads to a roof terrace - a super place for dinner whilst admiring the views of Pienza. The well-tended garden features a kidney-shaped swimming pool and again has lovely views of the countryside. The owner lives in a separate annex behind the main house. Villa Camilla is superbly positioned above Monticchiello, a charming medieval walled village noted for its 'Teatro Povero' - which hosts a series of summer performances by local 'actors'. Pienza can be seen from the house and historic Montepulciano, famed for its Vino Nobile, is also close by. Visit the many wine-producing castle estates, restaurants and trattorie in the vicinity.
