Portheras Farm Cottage offers `upside-down' style accommodation to take full advantage of the wonderful sea views and spectacular scenery. Situated on a working dairy farm at the end of a quiet lane, the cottage lies between the village of Pendeen and the Atlantic. A footpath leads from the cottage to Portheras Cove, a remote sandy beach and also onto the coastal path from where there is easy access to Pendeen Watch Lighthouse and boat cove. This coastline, which is owned by the National Trust, is renowned for its rolling farmland enclosed by stone walling, glaciated tors and streams. The area boasts a particularly rich heritage with much evidence of its Celtic history. The beautiful beaches at Sennen Cove and St Ives are within a short drive. Other attractions in the area include scenic flights and trips to the Scilly Isles, Cape Cornwall golf club, Minack cliff-top theatre and the Tate Gallery in the picturesque St Ives. Nearby Penzance offers shops, inns, sailing and tennis, as well as several fascinating museums and galleries such as the Maritime Museum and Penlee House Gallery and Museum. Excellent walking, riding, cycling, rock climbing, water sports and surfing are all available locally. The large enclosed garden and adjoining 1-acre meadow are ideal spots for relaxing after touring this wonderful corner of Cornwall. Porch entrance.
