Ideally suited for families, this lovely Elizabethan house, set in grounds of 5 acres is close to the pretty village of Hanley Swan, which lies under the dramatic landscapes of the Malvern Hills. In the village, the lily covered ponds bordered by the well tended greens are home to swans and ducks and paint a quintessentially English scene for visitors to enjoy. The spacious house dates in part from the 16th century and during its restoration, care has been taken to preserve and enhance the character and charm of the period whilst including contemporary open-plan living. There are a wide range of leisure pursuits available locally - choose from walking, cycling, horse riding, horse racing, kayaking, boating, swimming and dry skiing as well as theatres, cinemas, pubs and restaurants. There is also good touring to be enjoyed in unspoilt countryside, with Upton-on-Severn, famous for its annual International Jazz Festival, Malvern and the market town of Ledbury all within 10 miles. Close by is the spa town of Cheltenham with its famous racecourse and majestic shopping promenade as are the cathedral cities of Hereford and Worcester. The Brecon Beacons, the Wye Valley and the Cotswolds are all within easy reach as is Stratford-upon-Avon, the birthplace of Shakespeare and home to the Royal Shakespeare Company.
