Dating back to 1758, this Grade II* listed Gothic folly has been converted into a gamekeeper's cottage over a hundred years ago. Designed by Robert Adam, at the same time as Kedleston Hall (NT), for the first Lord Scarsdale. It now has its own lawned garden, and stands detached amidst the estate's romantic woods and farmland. With decorated Gothic tracery windows, columns, parapets detailed with arrowslits, shields, quatre-foils and pinnacles it forms a unique retreat. An ideal base for touring the Peak District National Park. Carsington reservoir for sailing, 10 minutes drive. Kedleston Hall 1mile. Ground floor: Beamed living room with open fire.
