Sleeps: 12
Bedrooms: 6

This Grade II listed Georgian gentry house enjoys a splendid rural location, close to the Snowdonia National Park and the popular town of Caernarfon. Dating back to the 1700s, the detached property is set amidst farmland grounds, with no near neighbours, and enjoys its own large enclosed garden with the River Gwyrfai flowing along the bottom. The comfortable interior has been tastefully furnished throughout and offers good quality accommodation for families and groups wishing to explore the beauty of North Wales. Nearby Caernarfon was once a Roman town and remains of its fort can still be seen today. The town is perhaps best known for its famous castle, so well-preserved it has been classed as a World Heritage Site. Visitors to the town can climb the towers of the castle, or enjoy browsing the many shops the town has to offer. Caernarfon is also home to a small maritime museum situated at Victoria Docks, which holds some very interesting materials. There are excellent road links to Snowdon, with its way-marked trails and dramatic mountainous scenery, and a choice of sandy beaches can be found along the Anglesey coastline. Plas Menai lies close by for excellent water sports and swimming facilities, and a wide range of outdoor activities can be enjoyed locally - choose from horse riding, fishing, tennis and golf. Cycling along the disused railway track of Lon Las Menai, eventually leading to Bangor, or along the restored Welsh Highland Railway - bike hire available in Caernarfon town. The award-winning Dinas Dinlle beach is just a 12minute drive away. Popular local attractions include The Greenwood Centre (5miles) and the Hwylfau Fun Centre (1½miles), which with its indoor play centre is ideal for rainy days. Other great days out include a visit to the Italianate gardens of Portmeirion, or the impressive castles of Beaumaris, Conwy or Penrhyn. Large living room with open fire. Second lounge.
