Set amongst the natural splendour of the North Lakeland National Park, overlooking the hamlet of Matterdale End, with panoramic views of the Ullswater fells. These two cottages, converted from a wing of the traditional stone built farmhouse, are tastefully furnished, providing a cosy and relaxed environment. One cottage offers a four-poster bed whilst the other has a spa bath in which to relax after an exhilarating day on the fells. A haven for nature lovers or for those wishing to get away from it all, as well as a wonderful base for touring, walking, cycling and enjoying the many outdoor activities this region has to offer. Ullswater is only 5 minutes away, where you can take the Lake Steamer to Howtown and walk back along the Lakeside or sail to Pooley Bridge. Keswick, Ambleside and Grasmere offer shops and galleries and the breathtaking Honister, Hard Knott and Kirkstone passes are a must. At the end of the day, return to enjoy the tranquility of the cottage gardens, relax in the summerhouse, stroll through the fields, feed the ducks or curl up with a book in the warmth of the cottage.
