This late 19th-century, detached holiday cottage occupies a most enviable location, amid its own mature gardens. Far-reaching countryside views can be savoured from the refurbished, well-presented interior. A short stroll leads to the formal gardens of Kiftsgate Court, famous the world over for its shrubs and roses. Guests at Back Lodge enjoy free access to the gardens three afternoons a week from April to September. Chipping Campden, Broadway and Stow-on-the-Wold are within reach, offering their own blend of shops, galleries and bistros, and Stratford-upon-Avon also makes for an enjoyable day out, particularly for literary lovers.
