Locally you can walk in the valley and enjoy the birds, wild flowers and waterfalls, or go riding, play golf or fish the rivers. Visit nearby Kirkby Stephen (5 miles) and explore the antique and craft shops, or ride on the scenic Settle to Carlisle railway. There are plenty of places to eat out, and the owner, who lives on site, will give you a warm welcome.
