Adjoining another property, it has an enclosed garden, paddock and woodland, where red squirrels, woodpeckers and nuthatches are regular visitors. Within walking distance is Hadrians Wall and the cottage is also close to a Roman army museum and ongoing Roman excavations. Walking in the wild unspoilt countryside is a delight and the Northumbrian Coast is also easily accessible. Several pubs, restaurants and shops are also available, together with a library and three open air swimming pools with facilities.
