Located in the Calderdale Valley, this detached, former coach house lies within the grounds of Brian Royd Hall, and has been sympathetically furnished retaining many original features, then complemented and enhanced by every day luxuries such as underfloor heating. This holiday property, adjacent to the owner’s home, offers stunning views over the surrounding West Yorkshire countryside, and is close to the villages of Greetland, Barkisland and Ripponden with their variety of shops, pubs and restaurants. There is also a choice of golf courses nearby. Sowerby Bridge train station is just 2 miles away, and the Calderdale railway line passes through a variety of West Yorkshire towns and villages, including Hebden Bridge and Halifax, as well as offering direct services to the major tourist attractions of Manchester and Leeds. Ideally located for exploring the Bront Country, there is also Eureka! The National Children’s Museum (for big and little kids), which can be reached in about 10 minutes, Shibden Estate with its park and hall in 15 minutes and the Yorkshire Sculpture Park with its modern and contemporary art in around half an hour. For outdoor enthusiasts, Calderdale has notoriously hilly terrain for keen cyclists, but it also offers excellent riding for families in the form of the National Cycle Network Route 66, a flat cycle route that follows the valley floor from Walsden to Brighouse. Visitors can also get involved with Sky Ride Local, which offers free rides by a qualified guide across Calderdale. For those however who prefer to stay on two feet, there is the circular Calderdale Way, which is a long-distance footpath incorporating moorland, woodland paths and canal towpath. This can be accessed at Clay House in West Vale, which is just 1 mile from this beautiful cottage. Shop and restaurant 1 mile, pub 1/2 mile.

Step to entrance. Beamed, open-plan living/dining room with exposed stone walls, flagstone floor and kitchen area with solid wood work surfaces. Beamed double bedroom with 5ft bed, exposed stone wall, window shutters and en-suite shower room with toilet. First floor: Landing with original mullion window. Beamed double bedroom with 6ft zip & link bed (can be twin). Shower room with toilet and ceramic tiled floor.
