This truly charming stone cottage dating from 1874, boasts a beautiful cottage garden with duck pond, summer house and unusual rare plants, as well as a kitchen garden where guests can help themselves to herbs. Detached in the grounds of the owners' home, it enjoys shared use of a large outdoor heated swimming-pool. In a rural position on the banks of the River Tees (free fishing), many footpaths and bridleways can be explored, and it is a short walk to the historic market town of Barnard Castle with restaurants and tearooms. Bowes museum makes for fantastic visit. Cycle hire is available. Pub within walking distance. Excellent riding facilities nearby.
