Nestled in the tiny hamlet of Brigham, these former farm buildings date back to the 1700s and have been lovingly converted to provide wonderful holiday homes. All of the properties feature cosy underfloor heating as well as welcoming wood-burning stoves - ideal for those cooler evenings. Especially suitable for families with young children, the cottages have been individually decorated - each having been carefully designed. Outside, there are shared one-acre landscaped grounds to enjoy, with seating. There is an individual, as well as a shared, barbecue area for each cottage, which makes a perfect place for a summer picnic. Ideal for families, children and adults alike are able to watch the cows being milked on the owners' working dairy farm by arrangement and to gather eggs for breakfast, or for a different family day out, bikes are available to explore the stunning countryside on quiet, picturesque lanes. For older children there is shared use of a games room with a full-size snooker table and table tennis, whilst for the younger ones, a large sand pit, pedal tractors, trailers and diggers and various outdoor games are available. Within the locality there are also a number of golf courses, and riding stables are 10 miles away. Set alongside the canal banks, the properties boast their own well-stocked coarse fish ponds, which guests are welcome to use. The Driffield Canal is the perfect location for those who enjoy `messing about on the river', as there is a small jetty for those who wish to bring their own canoes or small boats. Brigham village is noted in the Domesday Book and lies as a sleepy hamlet, yet just a few miles distant is the historical market town of Driffield. Delightful York (30 miles) is always a pleasure to visit, with plenty to do and see for the whole family. The magnificent Minster dominates the city, which is full of quaint shops, restaurants and pubs. Together with the Jorvik Viking Centre and The National Railway Museum, this historic city makes for an entertaining day out. For lovers of the outdoors, there are numerous walks for all standards incuding gentle strolls along the banks of the canal, coastal walks or taking in the magnificent scenery of the Yorkshire Wolds. The beaches of Bridlington, Scarborough and Filey, all with Blue Flag awards, are easily accessible, and Hornsea with its`Freeport Shopping Centre' is also well worth a visit. The area boasts a number of stately homes, as well as theatres and cinemas. Several pubs/restaurants within 21/2 miles.
