Situated amidst the stunning countryside of Exmoor National Park, Brakebrook Farm enjoys peace and quiet in acres of pastureland adjacent to the moors, with dramatic and far-reaching views of the National Park. Completely rebuilt, this detached 17th-century farmhouse has been restored to a high standard and offers spacious accommodation which makes it an ideal holiday retreat. Filled with character, the property retains its beams and other original features including the necessary Aga and a wood-burning stove in inglenook fireplace. All principal rooms have views of the surrounding countryside and the grounds make a perfect setting for al fresco meals beside the bubbling stream. The property also has a ball play area plus table tennis in the barn, and a hobby/play room, which are sure to keep children (young and old) happy. Enthusiasts can take accompanied moorland and coastal horse rides from stables 1½ miles distant, and walkers and bird-watchers, beautiful walks literally from the doorstep. Parracombe village is approximately ½ mile and a delightful walk across the fields to the local shop and pub. Nearby the twin seaside villages of Lynton and Lynmouth have much to offer with pubs, restaurants, shops and tearooms, and a cosy modern cinema at Lynton, and the pretty harbourside location of Lynmouth a treat with quaint thatched shops and pubs alongside. The famous Lynton Cliff Railway links the villages and offers a dramatic lift to the sister village atop the cliffs. The nearest sandy beach is a secluded cove at Lee Abbey (4 miles) towards the Valley of Rocks on the old coastal toll road to Lynton. Alternatively, surfers and children will enjoy the extensive sands a short drive west at Woolacombe, Putsborough, Croyde and Saunton. The area provides several gardens and NT properties and the local towns of Barnstaple, South Molton and Ilfracombe offer a blend of country markets, entertainments and shopping, with Lundy Island boat trips from Ilfracombe.
