From its elevated position, this delightful Victorian family home enjoys outstanding estuary views of the beautiful River Fowey. Reached via a shared driveway, it is just 400 yards from the centre of the peaceful little village of Golant, with its inn, restaurant, post office, and facilities for boat mooring, launching and crabbing! Set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, St Cloud is only 3 miles from the picturesque harbour town of Fowey, a popular yachting centre which offers a variety of shops, inns and restaurants, as well as sailing and fishing, and a 15-minute drive from the Eden Project. This is an ideal holiday base for exploring South Cornwall, with many excellent beaches in the area and wonderful coastal walks. Carlyon Bay (6 miles) has a long sandy beach, with boat hire available, as well as a golf course. There are delightful fishing villages to explore, including Polperro and Looe, and several lovely gardens to visit. A short drive to the north is the moated 13th-century Restormel Castle, and Lanhydrock House (NT), the grandest house in Cornwall with an exquisite Long Gallery ceiling and lovely grounds. A steam railway runs to Bodmin, on the edge of Bodmin Moor - the smallest and most accessible of the West Country's moors.
