Quietly located in a NT area designated as an AONB, Old Borough Cottages are a ½-mile walk from Camelot Castle and the bustle of Tintagel. They lie 400 yards from the north coast path and from the beautiful sea-washed sandy beach at Bossiney Haven. Listed by English Heritage as of historic importance, they are over 600 years old, and were on the estate of Admiral Sir Francis Drake (local MP in 1590). More recently, the cottages were home to mayors of Bossiney and of playwright J.B. Priestley - undoubtedly the character of the main house and area inspired him to write 15 major works here. Ample provision within the cottages offer a relaxing and enjoyable stay - down to the plump sofa, Egyptian cotton linen and thick towels, as well as amenities ensuring great comfort. There is fantastic surfing locally.
Cosy open-plan living room, with electric `wood-burning' stove and simple farmhouse-style kitchen area with folding table and chairs. Step up to double bedroom area with sloping ceiling and en-suite shower room/W.C. Beamed throughout.
