Miles of sandy beaches and salt marshes can be found within one mile of this detached spacious family home. Standing in its own enclosed garden the property is located in the heart of the sailing village of Brancaster, set back off the coast road and within walking distance of the village pubs serving food. Comfortably furnished throughout for larger family groups, The Lodge offers a warm welcome at any time of the year. Excellent walking and bird-watching can be enjoyed amid the nearby salt marshes and sand dunes and neighbouring Brancaster Staithe is a popular venue for sailing enthusiasts with regular boat trips bound for the RSPB and Nature Reserve Sanctuary of Scolt Head Island - popular trips with visitors to this area. Further along the coast at Blakeney or Morston Quay, trips can be taken to observe the basking seal colonies. The traditional seaside resort of Hunstanton lies 6 miles distant and has a Sea Life Centre, fun fair, leisure facilities including an indoor heated swimming-pool, cliff top golf course and many shops, restaurants and pubs. Wells-next-the-Sea has a wide sandy beach and working fishing harbour and is well known for fresh seafood which is served in most of the pubs and restaurants in the town itself. Many stately homes and historical sites are nearby, including the Royal Sandringham Estate (open to the public when the royals are not in residence). The coach and stable block contains an exhibition of royal memorabilia from dolls to cars and the garden is a pleasure in itself to meander through. Holkham and Houghton Halls, the ruins of Walsingham Priory Abbey and crypt are also well worth a visit, and within easy driving distance. Pub 500 yards. Step to entrance.
