Only 2 miles away delightful Southwold offers a sand and shingle shoreline with colourful beach huts; take a stroll along the recently extended Southwold Pier or among streets lined with fine buildings housing a good choice of traditional shops, inns and restaurants. The legendary Adnam's Brewery still makes local deliveries of its ales by horse-drawn dray and the last mile of the River Blyth, to the south of the town, is lined with fishing-boat yards and huts selling fresh fish. The RSPB reserve at Minsmere gives good public access. There is easy touring along Suffolk's heritage coastline. Not far away (12 miles), Pleasurewood Hills Theme Park offers an enjoyable day out.
