Wander in the footsteps of Wordsworth towards Grasmere, and see both Dove Cottage and Rydal Mount. Or, go to the Lake District Visitor Centre at Brockhole, where there are 30 acres of gardens, cruises on the lake, an adventure playground, and activities throughout the year. This is one of the finest areas in Britain for reaping the benefits of spending some time outdoors; for although you do need a car to reach certain destinations, some of the most scenic beauty spots can still only be reached by foot. Shops and pubs within walking distance. Ground floor: Open plan lounge with kitchen area with breakfast bar.
