In Derwent Mills World Heritage Site 'Peak Practice' setting
Dating from around 1600, these attractive old stone farm buildings and shire horse stables have been converted to ideal family holiday accommodation, set near the owner's farmhouse in a wooded valley rich with wildlife, once part of Florence Nightingale's family estate. Lots of character, original oak beams and natural stone walls. Many fine walks from the door with both river and canal close by. Abundant wildlife, particularly less common species of birds. Badger watch nightly - badger box and hide provided. A short drive from Matlock Bath, The Peak Park, the old market town of Bakewell, American Adventure, Alton Towers, Dovedale, Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall. Free fishing on the farm in half a mile of the River Derwent (trout), and the 1/2 acre fishing lake (chubb, tench etc) plus access to a 3 acre carp lake only 15 minutes drive away. Shop and pub ½ mile.
Small lounge with dining area, kitchen, bathroom with bath, shower & toilet, 2 bedrooms - 1 double, 1 twin.
