Eastbourne is a fine town with a Victorian pier and excellent theatres hosting national productions both musical and dramatic at the Devonshire Park and Congress Theatres. Easily reached by road via M25 and A22 and is 1½ hours by train from London. There is also an International Tennis Tournament at Devonshire Park and County Cricket at the Saffrons Sports ground, all of these venues are within walking distance of the property. The Bluebell Steam Railway and Filching Manor Motor Museum are a short drive and the South Downs are close by for walking enthusiasts. Eastbourne now has a Marina and harbour village and there is also a fine swimming and leisure pool. Two excellent golf courses are within 1 mile, with horse riding 10 minutes drive. Sailing, windsurfing and fishing are available from the beach. Day trips to France operate from Newhaven 12 miles away. Shops and pub a short walk.
