Derwent and Primrose Cottages are set on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds in the heart of North Yorkshire countryside and within easy reach of York. These cottages were converted from an 18th century granary where the harvest from the old farm at Low Penhowe was stored and the cattle milked. They have absolutely stunning views stretching for 26 miles, across to Castle Howard, the White Horse at Kilburn and the North Yorkshire Moors. The grounds are about 5 acres where there are chickens and ducks, and also a small herd of Highland cattle. Guests are more than welcome to help feed the chickens and collect the eggs. A perfect location for a holiday situated in the heart of the country and within easy reach of the North Yorkshire Moors, the coast at Whitby, Scarborough and Filey, and the Roman city of York. Things to see and do include stately homes such as Castle Howard and many NT and English Heritage sites. The holiday cottages are also covenient for Flamingo Land, theme park and Eden Camp, war museum. The owners pride themselves on a 'warm welcome' and to be discreetly available should you need anything during your holiday. Fresh farm eggs, a pint of milk and a bottle of wine in the fridge are only the beginnings of a memorable holiday. Shop 5 miles, pub 1.5 miles.
