Merchant House is a detached Grade II listed town house situated in the old High Street in the heart of the popular coastal town of Wells-next-the-Sea. Providing generous accommodation on four floors, the house is comfortably furnished throughout to offer home from home comforts. Character features include exposed beams and inglenook fireplaces. To the rear is a small, enclosed courtyard, with sitting area, screened for privacy. The house is just 250 yards from the harbour. The sandy beach and pinewoods lie one mile from the harbour and can be reached by car or by way of a pedestrain embankment or miniature railway. The area is ideal for bird watching, walking, swimming, sailing (Wells has its own sailing school) and cycling. Within the vicinity are RSPB bird sanctuaries and nature reserves and there are boat trips to visit the basking seals at Blakeney point. Located nearby Holkham Hall and the spectacular Holkham beach (used for many film shoots, such as Shakespeare in Love). The Royal house at Sandringham is less than 20 miles away and is open to the public when the royal family is not in residence. Shops and pubs 100 yards.
