Traditional shops, country cafes, picnic areas by the river and the renowned racecourse make this a lovely base from which to explore the Dales, North Yorks Moors and Coast. Helmsley, Ripon and York are all popular days out, and Castle Howard, Eden Camp and Rievaulx Abbey are excellent places to visit. Shops and pubs 100 yards.
