A good base for touring the Northumbrian coastal towns This modern bungalow (the owners live on site) is well equipped and comfortably furnished making a good base from which to explore the Northumbrian coastal towns and villages, particularly Amble, with its picturesque harbour of stone cottages, and sandy beaches and dunes forming an area of outstanding natural beauty, and Warkworth only 4 miles and Alnmouth 7 miles. In addition to the coast there are historic towns and castles. Visit the market town of Morpeth, 11 miles, with its 15th century clock tower and bagpipe museum and Alnwick castle. Cragside in Rothbury is nearby with Lord Armstrongs Tudor style Mansion and formal gardens which are open to the public most days. The castles at Warkworth and Bamburgh with lovely coastal walks, Hauxley Bird sanctuary, golf, fishing and riding nearby. The Northumbrian countryside is just waiting to be discovered, as well as Kielder Water and Forest where there are many picnic areas and visitors centres. The city of Newcastle offers many shops, pubs and restaurants as well as the Metro Centre at Gateshead. There is a club 150 yards from the cottage. Shop and pub 1 mile.
