• Ware Priory(5 km)- Grade I Listed, the Priory stands in 7 acres grounds. Founded as a Franciscan Friary in 1338; became a private house until World War I. Given to the town in 1920 by Mrs Anne Elizabeth Croft (The Croft family used to own Fanhams Hall Hotel).

Directions:

Turn off a10 at the junction signed Ware (b1001). Drive towards Ware. At the third roundabout bear left on Baldock Street. Take the second right turn into Kingsway. At the crossroads turn left into High Oak Road. This becomes Fanhams Hall Road. Fanhams Hall is half a mile on the left hand side.
