Moccas Court Hereford

Picture of in

Situated as it is in an area of extraordinary natural beauty, and so close to the Brecon Beacons National Park, guests will never be short of things to do.

Equally, Moccas is a great place to relax and unwind for those that are feeling less energetic. Nowhere is more conducive to a rewarding stay and a good night's sleep. The history and the setting are today matched by a warm welcome and a friendly atmosphere. The house itself might seem imposing at first, but stepping through the front door reveals an elegant family home of real intimacy and charm. Family portraits and beautiful furniture combine with tranquil vistas of some of the finest landscape in Britain, and grounds that were laid out by Capability Brown and Humphrey Repton. Moccas Court offers exceptional quality of food and accommodation, providing the ideal setting for a really rewarding, relaxing and refreshing stay. Moccas Court is a Grade 1 listed Georgian Country house, widely thought of as Herefordshire's finest stately home. It's not a 'typical' hotel but a Country House with luxury standards and in a class of its own, but without Jacuzzis and spas.

Directions:

Moccas Court is roughly midway between Hereford and Hay-on-Wye, on the southern bank of the River Wye. Despite its unspoiled location deep in rural Herefordshire, Moccas is surprisingly easy to access. By rail :Hereford station (approximately 10 miles from Moccas) has frequent services from South Wales, the Midlands, the North and London (via Worcester, Oxford and Reading: or Swindon, Bristol and Newport). We can arrange for you to be collected from the station if you require; we can also organise local car hire. By air: The nearest airports are Bristol, Cardiff and Birmingham all of which have good connections both inside Britain and with mainland Europe. Birmingham is probably the most convenient, since the airport is next to Birmingham International station with reasonably good rail connections to Hereford.
