• Windermere Lake Cruises(0 km)- Windermere Lake Cruises has a large fleet of modern and traditional launches and 'steamers', which operate the full length of Windermere, calling at Waterhead, Bowness and Lakeside.
• William Wordsworth Country(1 km)- Dove Cottage was the home of William Wordsworth from December 1799 to May 1808, the years of his supreme work as a poet.
• The Ravensglass & Eskdale Railway(5 km)- The Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway, or 'La'al Ratty' as it affectionately known, was opened in 1875 to bring ion ore from Eskdale to the Furness Railway at Ravenglass.
• Beatrix Potter Centre(5 km)- The Beatrix Potter Gallery in Hawkshead is one of the National Trust's more unusual properties in that it has an interesting link with Beatrix Potter herself.

Directions:

By car: - Exit at junction 36 of the M6 and head for Ambleside on the A591. The hotel is on the right just after the traffic lights.
