• Lake Windermere(0 km)- Windermere is the longest lake in the English Lake District, Cumbria. In fact, at over 10 miles long, its the longest lake in England. Its shores are littered with wonderful scenery, walks and picturesque towns and villages.
• Belle Isle(1 km)- Wooded island in Lake Windermere, landscaped in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. The island is one mile long - the longest in the lake. It has a long history dating back to Roman times when the commander at Ambleside built a villa here.
• The Lake District Visitor Centre at Brockhole(2 km)- Brockhole is an Edwardian house beautifully situated on the shores of Windermere; enjoy extensive landscaped gardens, lake cruises, adventure playground, guided walks and activities.
• Claife Heights(5 km)- This is an area of woodland owned by the National Trust, on the western shores of Windermere. It is a great spot for walking, cycling and wildlife. The moist climate and the acid soils of the area combine to encourage beautiful moss-rich oakwoods.

Exit m6 (j36), take a591 to Windermere. Follow signs for Bowness. At mini- Roundabout bear left and then take first left into Kendal Road. Hotel The hotel is 200 yards on your right.
