The only hotel in the centre of Chard, a quintessential English town in Somerset, this beautiful Grade II listed Georgian townhouse provides a stylish and comfortable environment in elegant surroundings.

The Georgian heritage is reflected in the decor, giving the ambience of a Georgian home whilst also providing modern facilities. Each of the 7 bedrooms is bright, spacious and warm. They have en suite facilities, including a walk-in power shower, Recommended by Johansens, AA 'Best in Britain', Alastair Sawdays 'Special Places to Stay' and 'Somewhere Special', the Bellplot is a great stopover on the gateway to the West Country and Cornwall. The staff specialise in giving a personal service tailored to your specific needs. The Land for the house was purchased in 1727 and this original plot was bell shaped, hence the name, which still holds true 280 years later. Fax facilities are available in the reception.

Directions:

By Car: From Taunton. - Take the M5. - Exit at junction 25. - Take the A358 to Chard. From London: - Take the A303. - Join the A358 to Chard. Going up the main street, with the Guildhall on your left, the hotel is 500 metres up on your right-hand side. You will find it behind the flint wall and green laurel hedge. Drive in through the gates and park your car.
