Fairwinds Hotel and Luxury Chalets are situated in Carrbridge in the heart of Cairngorm National Park. Guests enjoy the choice of accommodation in our 4 star (Scottish Tourist Board) hotel or in our superbly appointed purpose-built timber chalets, both professionally and personally run by resident owners Alison and Lindsay. Immensely popular for Scotland leisure and romantic breaks, this charming little hideaway gains its reputation from superbly professional yet carefully laid back management, its well respected restaurant and its idyllic romantic setting.

CANCELLATION POLICY: Reservations must be cancelled 7 days in advance of your arrival date. In the event of a no show or a cancellation in breach of this policy, the cost of the entire reservation will be charged. The cancellation policy may vary per room type; please check the room description as well. COMMENTS: Fairwinds Hotel is child free. The Hotel is now completely non smoking as is the restaurant. We do not accept pets in the hotel.

Local Attractions:

• Cairngorm National Park(1 km)- The Cairngorms National Park officially opened on the 1st of September 2003. It is Scotland's second national park, and the U.K's largest at 3800 square kilometres (1400 square miles).
• Landmark Centre(1 km)- Right on our doorstep - offers forest trails, a superb forest watch tower to climb, a working steam powered sawmill, an adventureland in the forest for children and the spectacular wildwatercoaster ride. There is also a restaurant and snack bar.
• Highland Folk Museum(20 km)- The Highland Folk Museum, near Kingussie, invites you to enter the World of the Highlander - to see, touch, smell and feel the atmosphere as you walk through the material remains of 400 years of Highland life from clansman to crofter.
• Cairngorm Mountain and Railway(7 km)- Known as 'A Natural High' - if you're looking for true inspiration, enjoyment and fun here is probably Scotland 's greatest mountain experience. Enjoy the highest mountain railway in the UK and the only one in Scotland.

Directions:

By car: Travelling by car from the South ( Edinburgh, Perth ) on the a9, turn right, off the a9 at the Grantown on Spey / Carrbridge junction (North of Aviemore). Follow the signs for Carrbridge. Travelling by car from the North ( Inverness ) on the A9, turn left off the A9 at the Carrbridge / Grantown on Spey junction. Follow the signs for Carrbridge. By train: Carrbridge station lies on the Perth/Inverness line. Trains stop here four times daily. Alternatively take a train to Aviemore (more frequent stops) and then taxi or coach to Carrbridge. By coach: There are several buses daily (except Sun) to Carrbridge from Inverness and Grantown-on-Spey with Highland Country Buses. There is also a regular service to Aviemore. From the airport: The nearest airport is Inverness. Then by road or rail to Carrbridge as above. Car hire is available from Inverness airport. From the ferries: Aberdeen: Take the A96 to Huntly, then the A920 to Dufftown and Craigellachie, then the A95 to Dulnain Bridge, watching for the A938 turnoff for Carrbridge. Rosyth; Best to head for the Forth Road Bridge along the A985 to the M90, then at Junction 1 on the M90 follow the signs to Perth and proceed North as above.
