There are many activities close by, including golf, skiing, fishing and stalking. Glenshee and the Lecht, 2 of the 5 Scottish ski resorts, are both approximately 30 miles from the hotel, with the necessary instruction and ski equipment available for hire.

• Royal Deeside(0 km)- Royal Deeside is the beautiful and historic area along the famous river dee, close to the royal familys scottish residence, Balmoral Castle.
• Whisky Trail(0 km)- A route covering some of scotlands finest malt whisky distilleries. Many are within easy reach of the hotel.
• highlands of scotland(0 km)- The village of Dinnet is located on the edge of the Scottish Highlands, with many munros within easy reach of the hotel. Highland games occur through the summer months including Braemar which is attended by the Queen.
• Balmoral Castle(12 km)- Balmoral is the scottish residence of the Royal Family. Visits to the castle are possible when the Royals are not in residence. Balmoral is on the Victorian Heritage trail, as is the hotel.

Directions:

By Car: - The hotel is on the main A93 Aberdeen to Perth road. - From Aberdeen, take the A93 west towards Balater and Braemar. - The hotel is 5 miles after Aboyne, and 5 miles before Balater. By Public Transport: From Aberdeen bus station there are frequent buses which go along the A93.
