The grounds of Abbot's Brae plays host to frequentvisits of roe deer, red squirrels and an abundance of bird-life, whilst with the ever changing views of the Firth of Clyde makes it hard to look away. Dunoon and the Argyll Forest Park is the Western Gateway to the Loch Lomond National Park which is blessed with lavish land and seascapes and few areas can match it for it? By Road: From the South, exit the m74 at junction 4. Follow signs for Glasgow centre (m8). Continue on m8 to Greenock and follow signs to Gourock (27 miles from Glasgow). Take either ferry Calmac or Western (three per hour) at Gourock for 20 minute crossing to Dunoon. Alternatively take a more leisurely and scenic drive via the Erskine Bridge and Loch Lomond National Park to approach Dunoon by road (70 miles from Glasgow). By Air: Only 1 hour from Glasgow Airport or 1 hour 15 minutes from Prestwick Airport (including ferry crossing). By Rail: Hourly service from Glasgow Central station to Gourock pier for connection to Dunoon ferry.
