• Portsmouth Historic Dockyard(18 km)- Portsmouth Historic Dockyard is the home of Lord Nelson's flagship HMS Victory, the Mary Rose and HMS Warrior 1860. There are many other attractions, museums and harbour tours are also available.
• River Hamble(2 km)- The River Hamble, which flows into the Solent, has been the home of sailing for many years. There are various sailing schools available and the area has lovely villages and inns. It is always a popular place for walkers and bikers.
• Winchester(25 km)- Discover the treasures of this unspoilt cathedral city on the edge of the South Downs. England's ancient capital and former seat of King Alfred the Great.
• New Forest(28 km)- The beautiful New Forest is a short drive away, where you will also find the Montagu family palace of Beaulieu, National Motor Museum and Beaulieu Abbey. A short distance away is Bucklers Hard, where ships for Nelson's navy were built.

Directions:

From the West: Exit Junction 8 of the m27, turning right at the end of the slip road, back under the motorway, up to a large roundabout. Take the first exit signposted Bursledon and Parkgate, then follow the road to the traffic lights. Go straight on and you will go up a hill. At the top of the hill you will come to Barnes Lane. Turn right into Barnes Lane, the Dormy House is 2 km on the right hand side. From the East: Exit junction 9 of the M27, turning left at the end of the slip road. Get into the right hand lane and at the big roundabout take the fifth exit, signposted Park Gate. At the next roundabout bear left, then go straight across 2 more roundabouts until you come to Sarisbury. Approximately 1 km after sign you will come to Barnes Lane. Turn left into Barnes Lane and Dormy House is 2 km down on the right.
