• The World of Beatrix Potter(1 km)- See all the Beatrix Potter characters. 10 minute walk.
• Windermere Lake Cruises(1 km)- Ferry Service and informative sight seeing boat trips on Lake Windermere. 15 minute easy walk. Visitors can also take a steam train and discover the contrasting lake and river scenery of the Leven Valley.
• Lake District Visitor Centre(2 km)- Very interesting display of Cumbrian crafts. Nice gardens and fantastic play area for children. Good tea room.
• Hill Top(4 km)- Visit the house where Beatrix Potter immortalised Peter Rabbit. Cross the lake by ferry to reach it.

Directions:

By Car: From North or South: - Take the M6. - Exit at junction 36. - Follow signs to the South Lakes and Kendal. This road is the A590/A591. - Follow the A591 to Windermere and then signs to the town centre. - Drive through the village towards Bowness and the lake. This road is 'New Road'. - After around 800 metres, there is a Catholic church on the left. St John's Lodge is approximately 90 metres on the left-hand side (If you reach the police station or the lake then you have gone too far).
