The Patterdale Hotel sits at the heart of Patterdale village on the main Penrith to Windermere route.

Lying at the head of Ullswater, England's most beautiful lake, the village is in a fabulous position for exploring the wonderful English Lake District. Offering 60 comfortable en suite bedrooms in a picturesque setting, and hearty home cooked and produced food, The Patterdale offer a warm Cumbrian welcome to all its guests. Please note: as of the 1st July 2007, new legislation to protect employees and the public from the harmful effects of second hand smoke come into effect. After careful consideration it has been decided to make The Patterdale Hotel a non-smoking hotel. Smoking will therefore no longer be permitted in the bedrooms or public areas. A designated space will be set aside outside the premises to accommodate those guest who wish to smoke. We trust that our guests will help us to achieve our legal responsibilities to ensure our premises remain smoke free. The Patterdale Hotel is a popular base for walking and activity holidays as well as more peaceful, relaxing breaks. The experienced staff take great care of all our guests, making your stay a pleasant and relaxing one with home-from-home comforts. • Lilliput Lane Visitors Centre(18 km)- It's all there from the studio tours & 'paint your own' sessions to exclusive cottages, only available to visitors. All this and more in Honeysuckle Cottage which is an life-sized authentic thatched building.
• Trotters World of Animals(30 km)- Trotters World of Animals is home to hundreds of animals from those that are critically endangered to our traditional favourites. Great family day out offering hawk walks, pony & tractor rides, a gift shop, tea room and 'Adopt an Animal'.

Directions:

Leave the m6 junction 40 for Penrith, then take the a66 westbound, signposted Keswick. At the roundabout, take the first exit (a592) for Ullswater and Watermillock. Continue along this road, turning right when you reach the T-junction. You will past though the village of Glenridding. The village of Patterdale and hotel itself, is a short drive out of Glenridding.
