• York Minster(12 km)- York Minster is one of the largest Cathedrals in Northern Europe. It was built between 1220 and 1472 and is in the Gothic style with tall arched windows and many intricate carvings.
• The Jorvik Viking Centre, York(12 km)- Deep beneath the street of Coppergate in the centre of York, archaeologists discovered the remains of the place that the Vikings once called home. They used that evidence to create one of the worlds most famous reconstructions of the Viking Age.
• Castle Howard, York(12 km)- Magnificent in its scale and breath-taking in its beauty, Castle Howard is a spectacular eighteenth- century palace which has been home to the Howard family for over 300 years.
• The Spa Town of Harrogate(34 km)- Harrogate is a vibrant town combining graceful architecture with beautiful parks and gardens, superb shops and restaurants and a thriving conference and exhibition industry.

Directions:

Exit the A1 at junction 47. Follow the A59 towards York. After 3 miles, turn left onto the B6265 and follow brown Aldwark Manor signs. After 2.7 miles, you will reach an intersection at Little Ouseburn, turn right following the brown signs. After 0.3 miles, you will reach a t junction, turn left. After crossing a hump back bridge, turn right. At the toll bridge, 40 pence is required to cross. Once across, after 100 yards, turn left and proceed for approximately 1/4 mile. The entrance to Aldwark Manor is on the right hand side.
