• Dunnet Head(10 km)- UK most northernly point on the mainland, and an area of interest to all nature lovers, rare birds, seals, and many other types of wildlife.
• Castle of Mey(15 km)- The Queen Mothers former Scottish Home now used on occasions by Prince Charles.
• Highland Games(15 km)- Various highland Games over the summer, Mey Games should be 6th of August.
• Orkney Islands(20 km)- One day Orkney Island Tours are available from Jog Ferries at John O Groats and can be arranged in the hotel.

Directions:

Come up the A9 from Inverness, following the signs for Thurso.As you approach Thurso you see the Rugby Field on your left and then a set of traffic lights. At these lights turn Right marked Castletown, John O Groats. Follow the road for 10km until you come to Castletown and you will find Hotel in the Centre on the right 100m past the Church.
