The Eastbury, now an elegant hotel, was in Georgian days a private residence. Relax in our peaceful walled garden. Now a privately owned hotel.
The Eastbury, now an elegant hotel, was in Georgian days a private residence.
It's imposing facade is a noted landmark in the quiet, lower part of Old Sherborne, five minutes leisurely walk from the Abbey and the town's main shopping parade. Typical of a gentleman's residence of that period, the house is spacious light and comfortable. The Eastbury invites relaxation and enjoyment of the finer pleasures of life. The private rooms have been individually decorated and furnished and all have en suite facilities. With the comfort and enjoyment of our guests in mind, each bedroom has remote controlled colour TV offering terrestrial and satellite channels, direct dial telephone and luxury bathrobes. The reputation of our award winning restaurant goes far, far beyond Dorset but we take a particular pride that it also enjoys a strong local affection and regular patronage. Our style basically English, the finest, freshest local ingredients, well prepared and attentively served. Our seafood dishes are as equally highly regarded as our meat - which is somewhat exceptional in the restaurant world. The garden at the Eastbury is an absolute joy. Walled, south facing, an acre in extent with broad lawns and planted with shrubs, trees and hedges it is indeed a peaceful haven in a rushing world. On a fine Summer evening dinner on the terrace - memories are made of this. All our facilities are available all year round to ensure that your special occasion is really memorable. We offer facilities for business meetings, seminars, conferences and private celebrations of all kinds
