The 300 year old Woolpack Country Inn was beautifully refurbished in 2004. This has built on its existing charm and character to provide an attractive relaxing and comfortable environment.

In 2005, the new proprietors immediately established a first class reputation for excellent food and a true Yorkshire welcome. Further attention to detail has since been afforded, with consideration to specific dietary needs and a fully re-fitted disabled room. Set in the peaceful village of Whitley, surrounded by places of interest, including the National Coal Mining Museum and the Kirklees Walks, the Woolpack provides 10 traditional en-suite guest rooms, substantial parking and garden, plus the opportunity to pre-book individual tailor-made menus and packages, guaranteeing you a remarkable stay.

Directions:

You will find the Woolpack Country Inn just off of the b6118 centrally located between Wakefield, Huddersfield & Dewsbury. By road: From the South (take M1 North), exit junction 38 and take the A637 to Flockton. At the next roundabout, go straight over on B6118. After approximately 1 mile, turn right towards Whitley, via Farmhouse Lane. Turn right at T junction towards Dewsbury. The Woolpack Country Inn can be easily found on the left hand side, close to the village green. From the South West (take M6/M62 exit junction 25), take the A644. After 1 mile, turn right to the A62. After 1 mile, turn left to the B6118. After 3 miles, turn left into Whitley via Farmhouse Lane (as above). From the South East (A1/M62 exit junction 25), follow directions as above. By Air: The Woolpack County Inn is well served by airports with Leeds/Bradford less than 30 minutes away and Robin Hood Airport, Doncaster and Manchester International Airport both within one hour. All offer a broad selection of scheduled flights across Europe. By Rail: The nearest rail station is close by at Dewsbury. Alternatively, there are stations at Huddersfield or Wakefield (15 minutes drive).
