Blakes of Dover is quite unique as a non-smoking ale and wine bar with superior accommodation, less than 5 minutes from ferry and cruise terminals. Trains, buses, the A20 and A2 trunk routes are all within 800 metres.

Blakes of Dover offers beautiful en suite rooms (including superior options), sleeping 2 to 4 guests. Well equipped rooms include televisions and complimentary trays. It has been awarded a 4-star rating by Visit Britain - Quality in Tourism. Blakes of Dover has a wonderful bar, providing a delightful place for eating and drinking. Their real ale range has now been extended to include micro brewery ales. Blakes of Dover is listed in the Good Beer Guide, the Good Cider Guide and the Good Pub Food Guide. In March 2006 it was voted District Pub of the Year by the Campaign for Real Ale. The street parking available at £1.10 per hour during the day (free of charge overnight from6pmto 9am).

CANCELLATION POLICY: null COMMENTS: A credit card is required as a guarantee. Late cancellation or no-show charges are 100% for one-night reservations or the cost of 2 nights' stay for longer bookings, however if rooms are re-let this may reduce to a minimum of 15% of total booking value +vat to cover our unrecoverable commissions paid. Please supply a mobile phone number if possible to help with contact on your booking. We are a Restaurant and Wine Bar also specialising in Real Ales, we are therefore open from 11.30 am - 11 pm Monday to Saturday and 12 - 10.30 pm Sundays, so early arrivals should present no problems subject to rooms being ready. However if you wish to arrive before 18:00 (or after 5pm on Sundays) Please let us know so that we can ensure we are available to greet you. Please note that after 11PM (5pm on Sundays) there will be no staff to receive you unless prior arrangements have been made. There will be additional charges for late checkouts. 25% of room rate up to noon, 50% of room rate up to 5pm and 100% thereafter. Please note the restaurant is very busy at the weekends. Reservations are recommended. We accept all major credit cards except Diner's Club. We also welcome cash payments either in Sterling or in US$ and Euros at a competitive exchange rate.

Equipped with one double bed, the room is fully en suite, beautifully decorated with pine furniture, and is bright and airy. The room is non-smoking.

Superior Double/Family Room (Sleeps 1 to 4) ()

These 2 beautifully decorated large rooms are fully en suite. They are quite spacious with an armchair and a coffee table, and are capable of sleeping up to 4 in a king-size bed and 2 single beds, by prior arrangement. ***Please note that the rate is on a 2 person basis. Refer to the policy section to know about extra charges. *** Both rooms are at the front of the building, one with lovely high ceiling and French windows. Rooms are non-smoking.

• Dover Museum(0 km)- Contains the oldest sea going vessel in the world, the Bronze Age Boat, BC1500.
• Dover Castle(1 km)- Visible from Blakes, standing high over the town. Historic Castle, with 2000 years of history, Roman Tower, WWII tunnels Great views of France.
• Canterbury(15 km)- CITY. Cathedral, beautiful buildings and excellent shopping. Old World Charm. Plenty of history.
• Port Lymne Zoo(20 km)- Beautiful zoo, set in woodlands, very scenic. Stately home in grounds. Road Train available around the grounds.

Directions:

By Car: From the M25: - Take the M2/A2 as far as the Duke of York's roundabout, just outside Dover (A258 junction). - Turn right onto the A258 signposted Dover Castle. - Follow the road past the castle, down a steep hill to the traffic lights. - Go straight over the lights and Blakes is on the left after about 200 m. On-street car parking is available outside. From the M20, via Folkestone: - Keep on the A20 with the sea on your right, until you come to the BP Garage and traffic lights (sports centre in front of you), turn left. - At the first set of lights, turn left into Castle Street (one way). - Blakes is on the 2nd block down on the left, car parking outside. By Public Transport: There are services from London Victoria to Dover Priory. Express coaches also call, via airports and London Victoria.
