This eight bedroom old coaching inn providing bed & breakfast accommodation, has been run by the Suddaby family since 1871. A small friendly bed & breakfast with very long-standing horse racing and brewing connections.
Seven real ales are always available in the main bar, which has a welcoming fire and good conversation. The pub has been included in the Good Beer Guide for over 21 consecutive years and we have also been voted Camra'a Rural Pub of the Year for seven out of the past eight years. We opened Malt'on hops, our specialist bottled beer and wine shop in 2005 to showcase to our own award-winning beers and many more micro-breweries' beers. Our wine is top quality and the range increases on an ongoing basis.
Suddabys is famous for its beer festivals, with 3 major events held during Easter, July and December. During these there are over 40 real ales available, along with a special food menu and live music in the evenings.
Suddabys is also becoming well-known for its music events and holds at least one live music night every month. A quiz night is held every Wednesday evening at 21:15.
Whilst the hotel does not have a restaurant, sandwiches and soups are available at lunchtimes and hot food is served on Friday and Saturday lunchtimes. As the hotel is located in the centre of the town there are many all good restaurants within walking distance. On arrival at the hotel, please go to the bar area to check in to your room as the hotel has no specific reception area.
