• The Eden Project(15 km)- In a giant crater in Cornwall, England, we bring the stories of our world to life. In the huge covered conservatories, or Biomes as we call them, you can visit the majestic rainforests.
• The GAIA Energy Centre(20 km)- A unique experience exploring Renewable Energy, its history, current and future uses. All visitors receive an automated audio headset that interacts with the exhibits providing an entertaining and informative guide to the exhibition.
• The National Maritime Museum Cornwall(20 km)- Dominating Falmouth's waterfront, National Maritime Museum Cornwall is designed for broad appeal, with a wide range of 'hands-on' displays and an unrivalled collection of boats - including many in active use on the water.
• Tate St Ives(35 km)- Tate St Ives opened in June 1993 and offers a unique introduction to modern art, where many works can be viewed in the surroundings and atmosphere which inspired them. The Gallery also manages the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden.

Directions:

Portloe is on the south Cornish Coast, midway between St. Austell and Falmouth. The Hotel is conveniently situated for touring this outstanding area. The Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan are just two of the numerous attractions nearby. By road: Travel by road via the M5 motorway and A30 or A38; turn off the A390 St. Austell to Truro road on to the B3287 road to Tregony. Then take the A3078 (St. Mawes road) and 2 miles further on, fork left for Veryan and Portloe, turning left at the T-junction for Portloe. On arrival, you are assured of space in the private hotel car park. By train: Regular train services from London Paddington to Truro. A taxi or hire car can be arranged for you if you wish. By air: Daily flights from London Gatwick and London Stansted to Newquay Airport. A taxi or hire car can be arranged for you if you wish.
