• Carlisle Castle(18 km)- Carlisle is Castle has stood proud over the city of Carlisle for over 900 years. The Castle offers detailed and displays offering an in depth look into William Rufus, Mary Queen of Scots and Bonnie Prince Charlie.

Directions:

The Gables is located less than a mile from the a74(m). Travelling north leave the a74(m), signposted Gretna/Gretna Green. At the roundabout take the b721 Annan Road. The hotel is approximately quarter of a mile along the Annan Road, on the right hand side after the traffic lights. From the South leave the A74(M), signposted Gretna. Turn left then at T-Junction turn left. At roundabout take the B721 Annan Road. The hotel is approximately quarter of a mile along the road on the right hand side, after the traffic lights.
